Bio

LTC. United States Army PFC United States Army World War II Korea Vietnam Ray was born and raised on a farm near Arcadia, Nebraska. In 1943, at age 19, he enlisted in the Army and was sent to England, where his Quartermaster company landed at Omaha Beach just 24 hours after the initial invasion. Because of his courage and leadership, he was awarded a battlefield commission and promoted from Private to Second Lieutenant. He retired after 20 years of reserve duty with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After the war, Ray attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and remained a lifelong Husker, holding season football tickets for 65 years. Professionally, Ray was an agent for Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company at Western Electric, where he made countless friends with Western Electric employees and many more as an active charter member of Mary Our Queen Parish. Preceded by: Parents: Joe and Emily Lonowski. Survived by: Wife of 64 years, Maxine (Kenny) Lonowski Daughters: Diane Dreis (Bob), Linda Haddick (Scott), and Laura Farris (Randy) Son: Jeff Lonowski Grandchildren: Alyssa, Lindsay, Ryan, Nikki, Kyle and Molly Sister: Dolores Moran Many loving nieces and nephews Heafey Hoffmann Dworak & Cutler Feb 2019
