OBITUARY James Allen Fortner February 17, 1994 – February 19, 2019 Obituary James Allen Fortner was born on February 17th 1994 in Terrell, TX to his parents Rick and Rebecca Fortner and to a sister Samantha who quickly became a best friend. James passed away on February 19th 2019 in Scurry, TX. James met the love of his life in 2012. They quickly became sweethearts and planned to be married on March 23rd 2019. James enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to hunt and fish, his parents installed that love as a child. He also loved bowling and playing basketball. He loved spending time with family laughing, playing games and having a cold drink. His nieces and nephews were dear to his heart. He enjoyed watching them grow and teaching them life lessons. But most of all vacations and lazy days with his girl were his favorite. If you were ever hungry, he was the man. From cooking his mommas spaghetti to smoking a hog he just got. James was one of a kind and will always be missed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Fortner; grandparents, James & Betty Scarbrough, Allen & Joyce Fortner, & Bonnie Jean Siney; nephew, Zaelyn Wade; & his dog, Sugar. James is survived by his fiancé, Rebecca Ramirez; father, Rick Fortner; sister, Samantha Holloway & husband Casey; nieces & nephews, Kealy, Rylan, Emma, Tatum, Madison, Leland, Trina, Sophia, Layla, Raelynn, Violet, & Lily; mother-in-law, Stephanie Earnhart; father-in-law, Mike Chavez; brother’s & sister’s- in law, Maria & Randy Wade, Jame Ramirez, & Corey Johnson; & his four-legged best friend, Molly to cherish his memory. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. Services Memorial Service February 23 11:00 am - 12:00 pm ANDERSON-CLAYTON FUNERAL HOME Terrell, Texas *** inForney.com Forney man tragically killed in head-on collision on SH 34, three others injured FORNEY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstance of a fatal head-on collision yesterday that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Forney man. Around 4 p.m., yesterday, emergency personnel responded to a major head-on collision on State Highway (SH) 34, less than one mile from Farm-to-Market (FM) 1390, in between Scurry and Rosser. A yellow Chevy pickup truck was traveling northbound on SH 34 and a Chevy Camaro was traveling southbound on SH 34 when, for an as of yet to be determined reason, the two vehicles collided head on, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford who cited preliminary investigation information. The driver of the Chevy pickup truck was pronounced deceased on scene. He was identified by police as 25-year-old James Fortner of Forney, Texas. Fortner had just turned 25 on Sunday and, according to friends, had previously lived in the Scurry-Rosser area and attended Scurry-Rosser High School. The driver of the Camaro was transported to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
