Bio

Honorable William D. Blue , age 86, died Jan. 14, 2013. He was born in Omaha on Jan. 20, 1926 to Max and Emma Blue. He grew up in Texas where his father worked for the Red Cross. Later the family moved to Crete. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he received his Doctorate of Law degree. He was a retired Lancaster county district judge, former chief deputy county attorney, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II, and an elder and deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Lincoln. Bill was a loving father, grandfather, and good friend to many. He was proud of his family and loved spending time with them. He was a lover of dogs, and had many cherished pets over the years. He was a man of great intellect, humor, compassion and integrity. He enjoyed his later years at the Legacy Retirement Center and meeting all the wonderful people there. He is survived by his sons and their wives; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Auntie Es, his first wife, Mary Elizabeth (Kinsinger) Blue and Marilyn (Coffey) Blue. The Service and Celebration of his Life at First Presbyterian Church, 840 South 17th Street. Memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, The CEDARS Home for Children Foundation, or Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach, all places he volunteered for and loyally supported.
