Bio

Judith G. Johnson Taggart Mom passed away Sunday, April 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Tomball, Texas. Judith was born Aug. 19, 1939 to Eustis Guillory and Theresa O’Pry Guillory. She married at a young age and had three children early in her life. At the age of 30, Judith decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and became a licensed practical nurse after graduating from T.H. Harris Vocational Technical School. After working a few years she then decided to further her nursing career and graduated from LSUE in 1976 as a registered nurse. She worked in the medical hospital setting until 1984 when she entered the field of psychiatric nursing which she continued in for 29 years. She retired from the prestigious Menninger Clinic in Houston, Texas, in 2013. Judith was preceded in death by her husband, David John Taggart II; and her former husband, Stephen Johnson She is survived by her three sons, David John Johnson, Stephen T. Johnson and wife Cindy of Eunice, La., and Garland D. Johnson and wife Jo of Klien, Texas; three sisters, Joan LaConte and Dan of Portland, Ore, Janice Fontana and husband Joseph of Lake Charles, La., and Janie (Pappy) Smith and husband Greg of New Iberia, La.; six grandchildren, Drake Johnson of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Daniel Johnson of Memphis, Tenn., Cali Johnson of Eunice, La., Stephen Johnson and wife Brittany of San Antonio, Texas, Harrison Johnson and wife Joni, Ben Johnson, Quinton, all of Lafayette, La., Jake Johnson and wife Ashley of Floresville, Texas, and Zachary Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas; five great grandchildren, Aris and Hayden Rozas, Austin and Oliva Johnson and Jackson Johnson. We love you, mom. Thy trials ended, thy rest is won. There will be a memorial ceremony at Consolata Chapel Cemetery in Lake Charles, La., Saturday, May 21, at 1:30 p.m. American Press Sunday May 5 2016
