Bio

Frank Joe “Frankie” Sebranek, Jr. was born November 10, 1937 near Garber to Frank and Mary (Simunek) Sebranek and passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in St. Mary's Regional Hospital. Frankie grew up in the Garber Community, where he attended and graduated from Garber High School in 1955. He later attended Oklahoma State University. He married Joyce Forshee on December 29, 1957 at the First United Methodist Church of Garber. After college, they returned to Garber and settled on the farm east of town where he raised wheat, cattle and had a dairy farm. They had three children, Debbie, Mark and Cheryl. Frankie was a Garber FFA President, member of the Garber High School Men's Quartet and Trumpet Trio, Junior Master Farmer 1955, FFA American Farmer Award 1958, Garber Rotary member, Friend of 4-H, Garfield County Rural Rotarian, Farmers Home Administration Board Member, and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Methodist Church during its renovation. Survivors include his wife Joyce, daughter Debbie and husband Glyndon Kuykendall of Edmond, son Mark and wife Stefanie Sebranek of Garden City, Kansas and daughter Cheryl and husband Dana Jordison of Owasso, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, three sisters, Libby and husband Ray Gene Cinnamon of Garber, Marcella and Galen Mears of El Dorado, Kansas; Wilma Worth of Moore, brother-in-law Bob and wife Willa Gossett of Deberry, Texas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Anna Mae and husband Willard Brakhage, brother-in-law Sonny Worth, brother-in-law John L. Forshee, sister-in-law Dona and husband Bob Dyer, and sister-in-law Carol Gossett. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Garber United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Garber Cemetery.
