Bio
Donita Faye Brandon , of Hurst, Texas, went home to be with the Lord the morning of February 5. Beloved as ‘Nana’ Donita was born July 2, 1941 in Quanah, Texas. She spent many years as the leading activity director for Tarrant County, organizing bingo and dominoes nights, taking seniors on outings to Will Rogers Coliseum, and arranging for Santa to make visits by helicopter to Colonial Manor senior residence. At home, Nana kept manicured gardens, cared for many animals, and enjoyed the company of her family. We will remember her love of cooking, as she spent many hours copying recipes from her favorite television chefs, especially Emeril Legasse. In her later years, Donita was an active and energetic participant in bingo, bean bag toss, coloring class, and exercise sessions at Brookdale assisted living. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hurst, and enjoyed frequent visits from Naoma Baker and Kim Wirt. Donita is preceded in death by her children Timothy and Anthony, daughter-in-law Kim, and her husband Bobby. She is survived by her children Bo and Kimberlee, siblings William, Ed, Richard, Jack Marshton, and Barbara Sue, along with 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, February 8th at 1 o'clock pm at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville.
