Lorayne J. Hurlburt, 87 of St. Paul, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul with her loving family at her side. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Pastor Russ Anderson will be officiating. Interment will be in the Arcadia Cemetery at 2:30 P.M on Thursday. Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Lorayne was born on June 21, 1931 in Ord, Nebraska to Frank and Anna (Urban) Sevenker. She attended Ord Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Dale Wesley Hurlburt on January 18, 1947 in Smith Center, KS. She was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife who diligently raised her 3 boys until they were in high school. She worked for B & D in Broken Bow for 2 years before working for Sell Grocery & Dalby’s Market in Arcadia. She worked at the Arcadia Public School as a cook for 15 years. Lorayne & Dale enjoyed camping and fishing. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles & watching game shows (especially Family Feud). Her greatest enjoyment was baking & cooking, especially for her family. Lorayne enjoyed attending her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren’s events, along with watching Dennis & Tim coach basketball & football games. Lorayne never met a stranger, & those who knew her certainly loved her as a person & friend. She was a giver, never a taker! She was a wonderful mother & wife, and took care of her husband when he was ill without a complaint! Family was EVERYTHING to Lorayne and she NEVER forgot a birthday or anniversary! She was a member of St Paul United Methodists Church and the American Legion Auxiliary for 41 years. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons & daughters-in-law, Larry & DeeDee Hurlburt of St. Paul and Tim & Diana Hurlburt of Burwell; sister, Mildred Murphy of Ord; grandchildren & their spouses, Jody & Mike Whalen of Kearney, Stacy & James Dugan of Greeley, Nikki & Moses Campos of Grand Island, Adam Hurlburt of Omaha, Leanna & Matthew Pollock of Cairo, Justin & Taylor Brase of Superior, Tami & Shawn Phillipps of Burwell, Brent & Twyla Hurlburt of Norfolk, Clint & Kori Hurlburt of Burwell; numerous great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. Lorayne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Kathy Hurlburt, infant son, Terry; & a stillborn brother.
