She attended schools in Throckmorton county and Breckenridge. Mrs. Abernethy graduated from Breckenridge High school. She had worked for the telephone company and Boss Glove Manufacturing, both in Breckenridge. She moved to Abilene in 1965 and to Belton from Brady in 1989. Mrs. Abernethy was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Brady Chapter #167. Survivors: two sons - Mike Abernethy and Craig Abernethy; two daughters - Sharon Abernethy and Shirley Bartley; four grnadchildren.
