SFC Troy James, 87, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, January, 22, 2019. Mr. James served 22 years in the Army Artillery. He served in Vietnam and Korea from 1950 to 1972 with Military Honors, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart & Bronze Star. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Annemarie James of Merryville LA; daughter, Sigrid James of Merryville, LA; brother, A. J. James of Orange, TX; three grandchildren, John Paul James of Port Arthur, TX, Crystal Lee Cantrell of Rosepine, LA, Annamarie Katherine Decker of Washington; eight great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Mary James and brother, Roy C. James. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA until the time of service at 11:00 AM also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana with full honors being presented. Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
