David Valigura, 88, of Caldwell went to his eternal rest on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 5 to 8 pm at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Mass of a Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 10 am in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernard Hung as celebrant. David Valigura was born on July 14, 1930 in Dime Box, Texas to parents Joe and Millie (Muzny) Valigura. David enlisted in the US Army after graduating high school. He then married the love of his life, Rose Koudelka, and had three loving children. David owned and operated his own grocery store for 27 years. He then went to work with his son for 32 years at his service station. David enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Somerville in his free time. He also liked to hunt for indian arrowheads. David liked to keep his yard immaculate. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and KJT. David always loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents. David is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rose Marie Valigura; two sons, Michael Valigura and Mark Valigura and wife, Connie; a daughter, Kathy Kocurek and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Kimberly Cedidla and husband, Brandon, Kaylee Vavra and husband, L. B. and Hannah Valigura; step-grandchildren, Josh Kocurek, Stephanie Durham and husband, Dustin and Tyler Kocurek; great-grandchildren, Kadie Rose Hartman and Jake Cedidla; step-great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Kocurek, Kason Kocurek and Ellisyn Kocurek. Pallbearers will be Larry Valigura, Larry Zschech, Charles Koudelka, Danny Loehr, L. B. Vavra and Gary Easter. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Dubcak, Charles Dubcak, Billy James Jurick, Les Swick, Ronnie Valigura, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (published by Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, Caldwell, Burleson Co., TX, Jan. 22, 2019.
