Bio
Lowell A. Reid, 94, of Lufkin, was born in Shady Grove, Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Ella (Arthur) and Wilbur Olen Reid. He died in a local nursing home. His funeral service will be held January 25, 2019 in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery. Mr. Reid was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and a POW. He retired from The Lufkin Daily News after 32 years of employment as a printer. Mr. Reid was a faithful member of Redland Baptist Church where he served in several different capacities. He enjoyed playing his guitar and loved watching the Texas Rangers. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Leshia Reid; daughter-in-law, Debbie Reid; grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Reid; son, Mike Reid, stepson, Riley Ruby; and brother, Sid Reid.
