Bio

Carolyn Sue Brown, 75, Lawton regrettably passed away peacefully in the early hours on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 13, 1943 in Lawton to Joe and Sammie (Clark) Hennessee. She married Billy Brown, Sr. on March 9, 1959 in Henrietta, Texas. They soon would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. While raising her children, Sue worked in the flooring industry before she and Billy started Brown’s Carpet. They owned and operated Brown’s carpet from 1978 until their retirement in 1994. Sue was the biggest support in her family’s love of racing for over 40 years. She loved her roses, her hummingbirds, playing slot machines, collecting clocks (which were never all set to the correct time), and having family game nights with her kids and grand kids. Sue is cherished by her loving husband Billy Brown, Sr. of the home, her children; Susan and Mark Horton of Cache, Debbie and Bobby Cole of Cache, Sherry and Jimmy May of Cache, Billy Brown, Jr. and Chrystal of Lawton, Lorie and Matt Leffler of Fort Lee, Virginia, her siblings; Hazel Stapleton of Columbus, South Carolina, Joan and Billy Buzbee of Marlow, Roger and Ginny Hennessee of Lawton, her grandchildren; Harvey Cox, Jr. of Cache, Mitchell Bagley of Lawton, Chris and Charleigh Cole of Cache, Crystal and Eddy Young of Cache, Melissa Nichols of Lawton, Jason Teakell of Lawton, Sammy and Miranda Henning of Lawton, Shelby and Cindy Henning of Temple, Shane and Jasmine Henning of Lawton, Maegen and Michael McConnell of Lawton, Colby and Amber Cole of Indiahoma, Nikki and Mason Martin of Midland, Texas, Dylan Shadoan of Stillwater, 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Shelly Janell Brown, daughter-in-law Vicki Brown, 3 brothers, a sister and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service: Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Pratt, Associate Pastor of Lawton First Assembly officiating.
