Charles "C.C." Curtis Newman, 84, of Nederland, died Thursday, September 13, 2018. He was born September 13, 1934, in Good Pine, Louisiana, to Ruby Smith and Henry James Newman. Charles was a United States Navy veteran before beginning his career as a pipefitter and welder with Local #195. Survivors include his sons, Tracy Newman and his wife, Jennifer and Steve Newman and his wife, Becca, all of Nederland; grandchild, Madison Newman; brothers, Darrell Newman, of Oregon and Robert Newman, of California; and sister, Barbara Gilbert, of Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Broussard Newman; parents; and brothers, Willie and Glenn Newman. A gathering of Mr. Newman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
