Bio

Brother Rudolph J. Horsak, Sr., a resident of Granger for the past six months, passed away in a Taylor hospital Thursday afternoon, March 27, 1969, at the age of 73. He was born June 12, 1895 in Fayette County, Texas. He was a retired farmer, and had made his home in Taylor before moving to Granger. He was a member of the SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, a member of the SPJST Lodge since June 14, 1914 and was a veteran of World War I where he played in the Navy Band, as well as numerous other bands. One April 4, 1921, he was married to Miss Lillian Grossman who survives. Other survivors include two sons, R.J. Horsak, Jr., of Milford Haven, Wales and W.E. Horsak, Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Rosie Kubena of Hermleigh, Texas; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday morning, March 31st, at 1:15 at the Condra Funeral Home in Granger followed by 9:30 rites at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with the Rev. George Tydlacka and the Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Interment was in the Taylor City Cemetery. RESOLVED by the members of Lodge Komensky No. 20, Granger, in the premise represented by the undersigned Special Committee, that condolence and deepest sympathy be extended to the bereaved family of our departed brother.
