Bio
Helen A. Svoboda, 76 of Brainard, died Tuesday at Butler County Hospital in David City. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard, with Rev. Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial is in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Svoboda was born July 10, 1909 near David City, the daughter of W.C. Yindrick and Barbara Kastner. She married James J. Svoboda Sept. 28, 1931 in Appleton, and spent her entire married life in the Brainard area. Surviving are her husband, James of Brainard; one son Arthur J., and one daughter Elaine (Mrs. La Vern J.) Fortik both of Brainard; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice (Mrs. Max) Krondak and Lucille (Mrs. Frank) Curda, both of David City. Preceded in death by one brother and one great grandchild.
