Bio
La Verne Alison, 80, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 after a long illness. She was born May 10, 1929 in Rockport, Texas to Arthur E., Sr. and Veola Brundrett Mires. She was a charter and active member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Mires, Jr. Surviving her is her husband of almost 60 years, V. T. Alison of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughters, Shelley (Joe) Whitworth of Sugar Land, Texas and Emrie (Elmer) Werth of Baytown, Texas; her son, Preston (Kelly) Alison of West Columbia, Texas; her sister, Opal Tice of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren, Alison (Jonathan) Plumhoff, Laura Whitworth, Zachary Werth, Benjamin Werth, Jacob Alison and Madeline Alison; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. with the family present from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, March 8, 2010 at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church with Pastor Michael Brundeen officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
