Bio
Alvinr was born on the family farm to Michael and Adella (Belinda) Kander. He grew on the that farm and attended District #32 Country School before graduating from Stanton High School in 1948. As a young boy, Al enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping but much of his time was spent helping on the family farm. Al married Viola Reese on May 27, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton, Nebraska and they were blessed with two sons: Mike and Doug. Al and Vi raised their family, first on the farm south of Stanton and then in Richland before moving to Elkhorn in 1974. Al worked on the farm and the lumber yard in Columbus before coming to Elkhorn and working construction. His last job was with E & K Construction. Al enjoyed gardening, fishing and attending garage sales. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha. Al enjoyed Vi’s home cooked meals and a cold Budweiser.
