From Schaetter Funeral Home: Frances Faltin Chamberlain (Fanny), a resident of Comfort, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family May 3, 2017- a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Fanny and Frank Chamberlain were married June 25, 1941 and were blessed with five children. Fanny, a third generation resident of Comfort, Texas, was a very involved community citizen. She was a loving and effective teacher at Comfort Elementary School for 24 years, and she continued to volunteer there many years after her retirement. Fanny's lifetime contributions to Comfort were recognized by the Chamber of Commerce when she was chosen outstanding citizen of the year in 1987. Fanny was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was a superb cook and was widely known for her home-made dill pickles, home-made whole wheat bread, baked chocolate chip cookies, and her Bits O Brickle cookies. During her life, she made hundreds of baked custards to take to sick friends and relatives, and she never failed to send her adult children home with a container of her goodies.
