Bio
Funeral services for Shirley Jean Grapes, 84, will be held at 2pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Wayland officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Shirley died December 12, 2018 at Goshen Healthcare Community. Shirley was born May 17, 1934 in Torrington, Wyoming the daughter of Donald and Bonita (Bymer) Frasier. She grew up and received her education in Torrington, graduating from high school in 1952. She married Wendell Grapes on October 16, 1952 in Torrington and they lived on a ranch north of Torrington until 1970 when they moved into Torrington while still having the ranch. Shirley enjoyed genealogy, adult coloring, scrap booking and handcrafts. She was a member of the Homemakers Club in Prairie Center, the Cowbells and the Methodist Church. Shirley is survived by three sons Brad (Joy) Grapes and Bryan Grapes of Torrington, Wyoming and Steven (Cheryl) Grapes of Casper, Wyoming; a sister Marilyn Smedley of Torrington; four grandchildren Beth (Abe) Correa, Toby (Jackie) Grapes, LeAnnGrapes and Dana Grapes; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Wendell.
