Thomas J. Brumley, son of Daniel A. Brumley and Milly Bilyeu, was the husband of Sarah "Sallie" Harkey. from the The Grand Prairie Texan, October 2, 1931, page 1, col. 3. "OLD CITIZEN OF CITY DIED LAST THURSDAY Funeral services for T. J. Brumley, whose death occurred at the family home in this city on Thursday of last week were held from the Methodist church in this city last Friday afternoon. Rev. H. H. Hargrove read the service and burial took place at the Southland cemetery. Mr. Brumley was born in Missouri October 13, 1962[sic], where he resided until about sixteen years of age when he came to Texas with his parents. Some twenty-five years ago he with his family moved to Grand Prairie which has been the family home since. During the past few years he has been farming with his son near Ennis. Last February he was stricken with the flu and he was quite sick for several weeks. He was moved to his home in this city, but he never fully recovered the attack. Mr. Brumley was a member of the Baptist church. He was converted at the age of twenty-seven and joined the church at Palmer, later moving his membership to this city and was a faithful, consistent member at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow and eight children. The children are Marvin, Burl, Elbert, Edward and Tommie Brumley and Mrs. Hazel Dean, Mrs. May Smith and Mrs. Mable Bowen. Four sisters, Mrs. Dona Allen of New Hope, Parker County; Mrs. Minnie Long of Weatherford and Mrs. Clemon Cole of Mesquite and Mrs. Ira Crosser of Morton, also survive."
