GOLD CROW YDNA Familytreedna.com Reverend Dewitt Crowe Somerville Funeral service for Reverend Dewitt Crowe, 81, will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ralph Henderson and Brother Ron Manly officiating. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Crowe died Monday, November 26, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Friday, April 16, 1937, in Morgan County to Thomas Emmanuel Crowe and Eva Inez Taylor Crowe. He was a Baptist Minister for 40 years preaching at various churches, a few of which were; Union Hill Baptist at Ardmore, Tennessee, Hopewell Baptist at Danville, Walden's Chapel, Valhermoso Springs Baptist and retiring at Southwest Baptist because of health issues. He is a member of Tunsel Road Baptist Church and was known for his words of wisdom. He loved gospel music so much so, that he and his family traveled together for 15 years sharing the gospel in song. He also was employed for a time at Copeland Corporation as a machine operator. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Libby Crowe; one son, Tommy Crowe (Kim), Hartselle; two daughters, Cam Emerson (Mark), Somerville and Darlene Grantland (David), Somerville; two brothers, Bobby Crowe, Decatur, Georgia and Billy Joe Crowe, Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Mary Ann Lemmond, Decatur and Carol Hankins, Somerville; three grandchildren, Brandon Emerson (Jaime), Tanner, Seth Emerson (Sabrina), Falkville and Chandler Crowe (fiancé, Daniel Cantor), Madison; five great-grandchildren, Bryson, Andee, Alley, Noah and Sadie.
