Funeral service for James "Jimmy" Millner, 90, of Paige, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Pastor Tim Edwards officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Giddings American Legion York Post 276 will immediately follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hills, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings and from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Paige United Methodist Church in Paige, Texas. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. James Warren Millner was born on September 28, 1928 in Travis County, Texas the son of James and Edna (Cravatt) Millner. He joined the United States Navy on March 13, 1946 and received his Honorable Discharge on January 7, 1948 having obtained the rank of Electricians Mate Third Class. Jimmy married Rose Mary Saegert on June 11, 1966 in Austin, Texas. He was a saleman at Continental Cars in Austin, Texas for many years. In 1985 Jimmy and Rose Mary moved back to Paige and settled on Rose Mary's family farm. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing Moon, barbequing and spending time with his family and friends but most of all making people laugh. Jimmy was a member of the Paige United Methodist Church and the Paige Sons of Hermann Lodge. He passed away the evening of Monday, November 19, 2018 at his home in Paige. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Millner of Paige; his three children, Tammy Edwards of Austin, Ben and Linda Voight of Paige and Russell Millner and Alan Kirkhart of Serbin; six grandchildren, Stacy "Ezra" Edwards of Austin, Hannah Voight of Paige, Dalton Voight of Paige, Victoria Millner of Austin, Phillip Millner of Austin and Nicholas Millner of Austin; two sisters, Lorayne "Sissy" Wheeler of Rollingwood and Elizabeth "Betty" Ermis of San Diego, California; one brother, Robert Millner, Sr. of Creedmoor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Millner; his daughter, Phyllis Millner; three sisters, Ethel Zwiener, Irene Milburn and Mamie Ott; and one brother, John Foster. Pallbearers will be Jimmy's grandchildren, Ezra Edwards, Hannah Voight, Dalton Voight, Victoria Millner, Phillip Millner, Nicholas Millner and Micah Kirkhart. For those desiring to make memorial contributions the Millner family recommends making memorials to the Paige United Methodust Church or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
