Bernice Magdalen Holub, 90, of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. She was born in Yoakum, Texas on July 30, 1928 to Vladike and Amelia (Pechacek) Kubicek. She is "together again" with her beloved husband Jesse Roy whom she was married to for 52 years until his death, October 4, 1999. She was a member of the Saint Rose of Lima Altar Society. She always enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, and sharing her meals and baked goods with her family, friends, and neighbors. Her faith and family were always her priorities. Bernice is survived by daughters Nancy Wooldridge and husband Paul of Birmingham, Alabama, Connie Swetlick of Houston, Texas, and Lynette Sykora and husband Dale of Hallettsville, Texas; 5 grandchildren Allison Joyner and husband Stewart, Timothy Swetlick, Melanie Swetlick, Stephanie Sykora, and Stacie Sykora; great grandchild Hannah Joyner; brother Laddie Joe Kubicek and wife Shirley and sister Rose Marie Barnes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorials may be made to Saint Rose of Lima and Saint Pius X High School.
