Bio

Marian Theresa (Jisa) Walker left us unexpectedly and far too soon on Monday, November 12, 2018, while working at the job she loved at Johnson Level & Tool in Mequon, Wisconsin. Marian was born on August 16, 1936, in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, the youngest of the six children of Thomas and Anna (Tomko) Jisa. Marian was raised on the family farm where she was born, getting up daily at 5 AM to help milk the cows before walking to the one-room school she attended (Sunny Slope—affectionately called "Sunny Slop") until high school. She was a self-proclaimed tomboy, participating in band and intramural sports in high school, and being named the "Most Athletic" girl of her senior class. After graduating in 1954, she followed her older sister, Marge, to the Milwaukee area where she worked at the Allen-Bradley Company. She was always proud to point out the company's four-sided clock tower when traveling past it, which until a few years ago was the largest four-sided clock tower in the world. On November 5, 1960, she married Robert James Walker in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Grafton in 1969 where they raised their two children, Mary Beth and Kenneth Robert. In 1985 Marian moved to Saukville, where she lived until her passing. She also began working at Johnson Level, continuing her ingrained childhood habit of rising early so that she sometimes arrived for work before the doors were even unlocked for the day. In her spare time Marian enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, visiting with family and friends, gambling at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay (where she sometimes struck it lucky!), and traveling when she got the chance. A memorable driving trip with her daughter and granddaughter in the early 2000s started out taking the ferry from Manitowoc to Michigan, traveling across Ontario to Niagara Falls, through upstate New York ending up in Boston, with stops at the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Cheers bar in Boston, and the Salem Witch Museum. Marian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Rieder, son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Debb (Flick) Walker, grandchildren Sarah and Benjamin Rieder, Ethan Sordahl, brother, Henry Jisa, sister-in-law, Virginia (Patrick) Jisa, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Albert, Paul, and Leonard Jisa, sister Margaret (Jisa) Lehnhoff, and sister-in-law Marilyn (Hough) Jisa. She and her goofy sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 19, from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton, 979 N. Green Bay Road, followed by a service at 6:00 PM. Following her wishes, Marian's remains will be cremated
