Bio

Angeline “Angie” C. McWatters, age 87 of Lake St. Louis, MO passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018. Angie was born in Westphalia, TX to Frank and Clara Jansing (nee Roessler) on March 20, 1931. Angie married Cecil McWatters in the 1950s and made their home in Dallas, TX, where she worked as an Executive Secretary. The greatest joy of her life came in 1960 with the birth of her precious only child, Sandra Marie (Sandi). Upon the death of Cecil, Angie retired and moved to Lake St. Louis to be closer to her daughter, as well as care for her only granddaughter, Alyssa. Many knew and loved her in this capacity as “Meme.” Being both a mother and a Meme brought much joy and happiness to her life. She was a fixture at all school, sporting, and extracurricular events - always with a smile on her face and words of encouragement. She enjoyed watching football (especially the Dallas Cowboys), doing crossword puzzles, cooking, going to Cracker Barrel, and spending time catching up with family and friends over a glass of sweet tea. Angie touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her. She was a loving wife, an amazing mother, and a treasured Meme. Few in their seventies could have raised a teenager, assisted with school projects, or chased after groups of middle schoolers at Relay for Life events like she did. Angie was truly one of a kind! She possessed a warm and generous heart of gold. Angie was always more than willing to help anyone whenever possible, no matter what she was going through. She was a strong, genuine woman with a beautiful soul who will be dearly missed and loved forever. Angie is survived by her granddaughter, Alyssa Huffman, son-in-law, John Huffman, sister, Rita Custer, and brother, Alois Jansing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McWatters, daughter, Sandi Huffman (nee McWatters), two brothers, Edward and Eugene Jansing, and her parents, Frank and Clara Jansing. Her eternal resting place will be with her husband at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. A private service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Delmar Gardens of O'Fallon and Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care for their support in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care, 14805 N. Outer 40 Road, Suite 160 Chesterfield, MO 63017.
