Lois "Carol" Aden, 79, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 7, 2016 at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, NE. She was born December 15, 1936 north of Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Walter and Myrtle (Lindholm) Anderson. She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1956. She married Keith Aden on October 27, 1957 at the American Lutheran Church. Carol worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone office, Jensen's Jack and Jill, Kampfe & Tollefsons Clothing Store, Farmland Service CO-OP and State Farm Insurance. She was co-owner of the Kids Closet and Quality Clean. Carol also worked at American Charter Savings and Loan, first as a teller and later as a loan officer. She was a co-leader for three 4-H clubs, one for each of her daughters. Carol was also a Stephen Minister for 11 years. She was very active in numerous church committees, Bible studies, choir, and children's ministry. She delivered Meal-On-Wheels and loved visiting with those who were home bound. Carol kept busy with all her grandchildren and their activities. She enjoyed sewing, baking, shopping, decorating, going to the movies, hosting Christmas coffees and spending time with her friends. Surviving are husband, Keith Aden of Gothenburg, NE, daughter, LuAnn (Todd) Houchin of Gothenburg, NE, daughter, Linda Aden (Tobe Stauss) of Lincoln, NE, daughter Kellie Aden (Pete) Amisano of Lincoln, NE. She was a grandmother to Wade (Kearah) Houchin, and their children Reid, Ta'Lyn, Traeson, and Titus Houchin; Blake Houchin, Erica Houchin, Jacob and Emily Amisano; and her sister DeAnn Meysing. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Anderson, sisters Gerry Woodward and Jean Mann. Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, February 10, 2016 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Jeff Cottingham officiating. Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
