Bonnie M. Mason passed away October 29, 2018 at her home in Cozad at the age of 74. Bonnie was born April 20, 1944 in Lexington, Nebraska to John and Annetta (Klein) Marsh. She attended Lexington Public Schools and worked at the Lexington nursing home. On August 21, 1967, Bonnie married Charles E. Mason, the love of her life. The couple were blessed with two sons, Chuck and Rod. Bonnie also enjoyed spending time with her stepsons, Mike and Bill. She worked at Evans Bakery for a number of years following the passing of her husband. Bonnie eventually moved into and apartment at Cozad Housing. She wrote a weekly column on behalf of Cozad Housing for the local newspaper and was president of the Cozad Housing Club. Bonnie enjoyed having coffee with friends every morning at the Grand Generation Center. She played bingo on Tuesday and Thursday nights and volunteered wherever she was needed at the Grand Generation Center. Her most treasured times were spent with family camping, fishing, taking long drives in the country and keeping up with grandchildren. Bonnie enjoyed being outdoors, planting and tending to her garden. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Cozad Bible Church. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and brother, Rodney Marsh. Survivors include her sons, Chuck (Denice) Mason of Cozad and Rod (Angie) Mason of Hartwell, GA; stepsons, Mike Spicknall and Bill Spicknall, both of Hastings; granddaughters, Kristina Mason of Hartwell, GA and Casie (Austin) Eaton of Royston, GA; 2 sisters, Robin (Brad) Staton of Cozad and Louise (Don) Carpenter of Cozad; brother, John (Bonnie) Marsh of Indianapolis, IN; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor JC Calhoun officiating. Burial is at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 7 with family present from 5 to 7 at Berryman Funeral Home.
