Mrs. Lillian P. Sloan , 56, of 2301 Makemie Ave. was found dead in the garage of her residence at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 1969, by her husband, who stated he last saw his wife alive shortly before midnight Friday when he went to bed. Born in Columbus, Tenn., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hardy Pigg, she was a resident of Springfield since 1963. Surviving are her husband, Dr. William Sloan; one son, John L., of Springfield, one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Phillips, of State College, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Services were in Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Coroner William C. Telford, who ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, said an inquest will be held.
