Bio
Louis Otto Bluerock, Jr., age 72, of Conway, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday morning, at the Conway Regional Medical Center. Louis was born November 30, 1929, the son of the late Louis O. and Geraldine Enderby Bluerock, Sr., in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was reared and educated in Pine Bluff and graduated from the Pine Bluff High School class of 1947. Louis graduated from Arkansas A&M (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello) with his Baccalaureate in Education and received his Masters from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Mr. Bluerock was a teacher at Henderson State University, Pine Bluff Schools, and at the Star City School System for fifteen (15) years. He was Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Dumas for 24 years. Louis was a former member of Central Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff, the Star City Optimist Club, Dumas Lions Club, Arkansas and National Education Associations. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Conway. Mr. Bluerock is survived by two (2) daughters, Beth Bluerock-Hays of Conway, Arkansas and Nancy Bluerock of Sherman, Texas; three (3) sisters, Barbara Harris of Pine Bluff, Mary Harris of Murfreesboro, North Carolina and Evelyn Crow of Leslie, Arkansas and two (2) granddaughters, Laura and Sarah Hays. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at Graceland Cemetery, Pine Bluff. The family will receive guests at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home, 807 Cherry Street, Monday from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church of Conway, 2400 Prince, Conway, Arkansas. The Reverend Rebecca Spooner will officiate.
