Bio

Jesse Stephen "Steve" Wilson, 75 February 2, 1905 ~ January 30, 1981 Jesse Stephen was born February 2, 1905 in Speedwell, Tennessee to James "Jim" Charlie and Margaret (Graves) Wilson. In his younger years, he went by Stephen. By 1910, the family had already moved to Nebraska, where they were farming in Braden Township, McPherson County, Nebraska. The 1910 US Census lists: J.C. Wilson, 30, head, farmer, b. TN Margaret S. Wilson, 31, wife, b. TN Stephen Wilson, 5, son, b. TN Estell M. Wilson, 3, daughter, b. TN Peter B. Wilson, 1, son, b. TN Although WWI broke out in Europe in September, 1939, with the German attack on Poland, the United States didn't declare war until Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941. However, the nation was preparing, and on October 16, 1940, this blue-eyed, brown-haired ruddy young man walked into the draft board office. The clerk noted that Jesse was 5'9" tall, and Jesse said his next of kin was Jim Wilson. Jesse married Juliette E. Moody and they were blessed with at least one child, Ruby Jean.
