JoAnn Rourk, 65 of Oil City, Louisiana passed away on October 1, 2018. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oil City, Louisiana, officiated by Rev. Jessie Colston. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 5th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, Louisiana. JoAnn was born on September 14, 1953 in Vivian, Louisiana to Eligah and Annie Poindexter. She lived in Oil City, Louisiana all of her life. She attended Ferry Lake Baptist Church. JoAnn loved painting, crocheting, and needle point. She also enjoyed reading and puzzles. She loved her family and all of her animals. She especially loved her grandkids and spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert “Dr. Pepper” Rourk Sr. She is survived by her two children Robert Rourk Jr. and wife Anja of Oil City, LA, and Elizabeth Cecil and husband David of Crittenden, KY, one brother Tommy Poindexter of Oil City, LA, and six grandchildren, Amelia, Gwendolyn, and Robert Rourk III, David Jr., Joshua, and Allison Cecil. Pallbearers will be Christopher Kracman, Fred Barkschat, David Cecil and Christian Faircloth.
