Hightower, USN ret., one of only six officers ever to reach the rank of admiral in the Navy's medical corps, is dead at the age of 65. Hightower, who died Tuesday at the San Diego Naval Hospital, had worked as a health officer with the Los Angeles County Health Department since he retired 10 years ago. ********** Los Angeles Times Los Angeles, California Sunday, December 17, 1967, page 6, section C HIGHTOWER, Emmett Dysart, Rear Adm.
