Morris, Garland Born June 5, 1924 and passed away September 21, 2009. Garland became a Christian in March 1964 at the age of 40 in Dallas, Texas. He served as a faithful Deacon in his church. Garland loved people and was a soul winner. He was a dedicated supporter of missionaries and spreading the gospel. The last few years Garland has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Huntsville, Texas where he served as a Deacon. Garland served in the U.S. Army during World War II. from March 11, 1943 to Oct. 28, 1945. His Military Awards include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, British Military Medal, and he turned down a Battle Field Commission. After his military service, Garland became a professional boxer for 2 years. Most of his adult life after the service, Garland was a professional Barber. Garland was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, his mother and father, brothers, Robert, Opal, and Dudley; sisters, Ira Lee Fugate, Norma Hill, and Mary Ann Capper. Garland is survived by his step sons, Ray Dollar, Keith Dollar, and Don Dollar; sisters, Alice and Hazel; many nieces, nephews and friends who loved and respected him.
