1920 - Retrieved from Newspapers.com on May 10, 2022 The Waterloo Gazette; Waterloo, Nebraska; Friday, February 20, 1920, page 1 ARTHUR L. CLAUSSEN DIED LAST THURSDAY Arthur L. Claussen died at his farm home two miles east of Elkhorn, Thursday, February 12, 1920, after a short illness of pneumonia. Mr. Claussen's death occurred one day before his 22nd birthday and just thirteen days before his first wedding anniversary. He was born February 13, 1898, and had made his home in this community all his life, where he was well known and highly esteemed. He was married February 26, 1919, to Miss Emma Kuennemann and his short married life was spent on the Claussen farm, on which he was born and reared. One son, came to his home born November 19, 1919. Funeral services were held Sunday from the farm home and were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Smith of Papillion. Interment was at Prospect Hill cemetery. Besides his wife and son, Mr. Claussen has a mother; one brother, John; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Bay, Mrs. W. A. Schuldt of Bennington, Mrs. John Schuldt and Mrs. Tim Ohrt of Bennington. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. Nusser, Albert Limberg of Council Bluffs and Miss Alma Limberg of Omaha.
