James Philander Knight James Philander Knight was born in 1819 in Missouri to Lydia Goldwaite Bailey Knight and Newel Knight. James Philander Knight lived in Salt Lake County, Deseret in 1851; value of real estate was $100. James Philander Knight and Elizabeth Jones were married on Wednesday, August 8, 1860 in Fairview, Sanpete County, Utah. Elizabeth was 16 years old.
