Mary Pribyl was born November 22, 1891, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of John and Mary Vavera. She came to America at the age of 16. She married Frank Pribyl in December, 1911, in Milwaukee. Wis. They lived on a farm near Weston, moving to the Ulysses area in 1932. Six years ago they moved from their farm into Ulysses, where they lived until last August. Three children were born to them: Edward, Surprise, Mrs. Stanley (Blanche) Sloup, David City, and Frank who was killed in Italy in World War II. Mrs. Pribyl died at the David City Community Rest Home Feb. 8, 1967, at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband and two children; two grandsons, and two great granchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Frank, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, at Immaculate Conception Church, Ulysses. Msgr. G. J. Schuster officiated. Burial was in the Ulysses Catholic cemetery. Seward County Independent, Seward, NE, Wed, Feb 15, 1967
