Bio

Brother Merry Garland Jones, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, September 28th at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Brother Jones was a 1955 graduate of Winfield City High School and attended seminaries in Louisiana and California. He pastored numerous churches across the United States for over sixty years. He loved God, his family, his church families, and spreading the gospel. Mr. Garland was preceded in death by his parents John B. Jones and Loudelle Markham Jones and a brother James Jones. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Jones; son, Ronnie Garland (Marie); daughters, Reba Jean (Mike) Kimble and Vickie Sue (Nathan) Humber; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, John Paul (Dorothy) Jones. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1st at 10:00 am from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30th from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
