Ricky “Rick” Harold Bock was born in David City on Nov. 8, 1948. He passed peacefully in his sleep at david's Place in David City on Sept. 24, 2018. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, at Husker Bar in Columbus. Rick was born to Harold and Geraldine (Fleek) Bock. He graduated from David City High School in 1967. Rick married MariBeth (Plasek) on Nov. 6, 1971, in David City. From this union, four children were born. Rick married Lori (Lukassen) Sabata on Aug. 1, 1997. He worked as a welder at Soil Movers and Greystone Inc. (formerly known as Henke and Sands), and sold and delivered furniture at Ron's New and Used Furniture. Rick enjoyed reading and watching westerns. He loved riding his bike, going for walks, and playing Keno. Rick also enjoyed having his hair brushed, especially by his granddaughter Alexus. Rick is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lori; children David (Jaime) of Columbus, Craig of Lincoln, Anjelique of Omaha, Cody (Melissa Armstrong) of Lincoln, and Amber Sabata (Mike Saxton) of David City; grandchildren Tyler, Madelyn, Rachael, Landen, Alexus, Lukas, and William; great-grandchildren, Linden, Naomi, and Nova; sister Kathy Sumner of Columbus; brothers Galen (Jan) Bock of Bellwood, and Dan (Barb) Bock of Schuyler; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother in-law Tom Sumner; and father and mother in-law, Francis and Lucile Lukassen.
