SUSIE MORRIS CRAIG Napa Susie Craig, 58, was called home to meet her Lord on April 24, 2007 after 14 years of fighting cancer. She was born on January 20, 1949 in Beeville, Texas to Bennett and Loleta Morris. Susie graduated from Texas Tech University in 1972. She started her career working for a non-profit cross-cultural training organization and then an insurance company in Colorado. In 1978, she and a business partner founded VIVA, a designer eyewear company. She was actively involved in the company until 1992. On October 16, 1993, Susie married Rick Craig and resided in Laguna Niguel, California. Both were very active at Coast Hills Community Church. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Napa, California where Rick joined the pastoral staff at First Christian Church. Susie became very active in the Celebration Arts and Women's Ministry as well as mentoring. Susie loved her family and loved to study God's Word. She would daily spend extended time in her studies, but more importantly, she put her faith in action as she cared for and loved people in her everyday life. Her greatest desire in life was for people to know the love of Jesus Christ and that their eternity is only secure through faith in Him. Her joyful spirit and vivacious smile touched everyone she met; our community will miss her. She is survived by her husband, Pastor Rick Craig, her children Ashley and Johnny, her sisters Helen Cuyler and Carole Morris, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Susie's life will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00am at First Christian Church, 2659 First St. Napa, CA. Pastors Jermaine Keller and Allen Gallaway will officiate. For those who would like to make a memorial contribution in Susie's name, please make your contribution to First Christian Church with a memo stating "Susie Craig Memorial Fund." Susie and Rick have made a life-long commitment to support five missionaries around the world dedicated to meeting the needs of others, so 100% of gifts received will go directly to their sending agencies for distribution. Arrangements are under the direction of Richard Pierce Funeral Service and condolences may be sent to the family on-line at WWW.RPFSC.COM.
