FULTON, MO. - Jesse E. Revels, age 74, of Fulton, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo. He was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Ontario, Wis., the son of the late Dewey and Blanche (McDaniel) Revels. On Feb. 14, 1953, he married Helen Muehe. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1999. On April 28, 2001, he married Eleanora Sartori in Mount Horeb. She survives of the home. He is also survived by a son, Edward Dewey Revels of Fulton, Mo.; two stepsons, Michael Mieden and Paul Mieden, both of Barneveld; a daughter, Susan Kay Slaughter of Fulton, Mo.; five stepdaughters, Patricia Mieden of Elkhorn, Gail Endres and Mary Parks, both of Blanchardville, and Emma Harris and Laura Vorpahl, both of Oregon; a sister, Norma Rabehl of Excelsior; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen; and a sister, Jeanetta Miller. Jesse served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring in 1976 as a master sergeant. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, a badge for Military Merit, two medals for Meritorious Service, and a medal for Service in Vietnam. He was the instructor for the Westminster College Rifle Team "Revels Riflemen" that competed nation wide with honors. Jesse, also, stepped in to coach the Westminster Baseball Team. He taught ROTC at Westminster College from 1970 to 1976. He later worked as director of maintenance at Westminster College from 1976 to 1988 and director of maintenance at Fulton State Hospital from 1988 to 1997. He was a volunteer fireman with Central Callaway Fire Protection District Station 1 for 25 years and later served on the Board. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Dan Lueckenotte officiating. Military Honors followed the service. Family received friends on Friday evening, Jan. 26, 2007, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
