Bio
Dorotha Lucille Harper, 95, died on Sunday evening, September 16, 2018, in Garland, Texas. Dottie was born September September 1, 1923 in Wylie, Texas to Bessel and Lexia (Chappell) Spurgin. She married Earl Harper on January 8, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma. Dottie was a member of the First Christian Church of Garland, where she and Earl raised their three children. She was very proud of the fact that her family membership included five generations. Dottie was also an office manager for Harper Maintenance Service Inc. for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Harper. She was survived by her daughter; son; and son; brother; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, 21 September, at First Christian Church of Garland, Texas. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After requesting the plot name be added to Dottie's memorial, her memorial was transferred to my care.
