Bio
Kathryn (Johnson) Fritzges, daughter of Samuel Austin and Vera (Carter) Johnson was born on December 5, 1925 at Albion, NE. She attended school in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1943. On October 8, 1950 Kathryn was united in marriage to Roy H. Fritzges at the Church of Christ in Albion, NE. They lived and farmed northwest of St. Edward, NE. In 1984 they moved to Eagle, CO where Roy and Kathryn worked for Beaver Creek Stables in Avon CO, where Kathryn worked as a receptionist and organized trail rides. During their time in Colorado, they were privileged to meet a variety of people from all walks of life, including president Gerald Ford and his family along with several popular musicians. They returned to the St. Edward area in 1990. Kathryn worked along side her husband at Fritzges Saddle Repair in St. Edward where she kept books for the business. Kathryn and Roy also enjoyed traveling to trail rides and Western collectibles auctions. Kathryn was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Albion, NE. Some of her favorite things were reading, the color blue, fried chicken, wild roses, butterflies, gardens, violin music, and Psalms. She was a very creative person who enjoyed designing her own quilting patterns. She is survived by her three children: Coleen Donaldson of Lemitar, NM; Kim and Lee Fritzges of St. Edward, NE; five grandchildren: Jesse (Lisa) Donaldson of Enid, OK; Jamie (Jeff) Fassett of San Acacia, NM; Meredith (Brady) Christman of St. Edward, NE; John (Kaitlin) Fritzges of St. Edward, NE; Morgan Fritzges of Columbus, NE; seven great-grandchildren: Jenna Donaldson of Enid, OK; McKayla and Addysin Fassett of San Acacia, NM; Conor Laska of St. Edward, NE; Kohen, Reese, and Rhett Fritzges of St. Edward, NE; brother Donald Johnson of Gretna, NE; sister-in-law Margie Keeshan of St. Edward, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Vera Johnson; husband Roy in 2005; great-granddaughter Kinley Fritzges; son-in-law Jim Donaldson; siblings: Florence, Lee, Ralph, Jack, Mary, Ruth, Dick, Jim and spouses and brother-in-law Roy Keeshan.
