Bio

Curtis Ralph Ellenburg, Sr. died in his home on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was the diligent son of Emory Denton Ellenburg, Sr. and Genevieve (Gallaher) Ellenburg. He was the loving brother of Emory Denton Ellenburg Jr., Paul Ellenburg, Helen Jennings, Brooks Ellenburg, and was survived by Annie Sue Harrison. He was also the endearing father of Karen, Curtis Jr., and William. He was survived by the legacy of Karen and Jay Bowling, Curtis Jr. and Donna Ellenburg, and William and Jodi Ellenburg. Ralph Ellenburg was a born and raised Wylie native, having lived there his entire life. Ralph retired from Teledyne Geotech as a stockroom supervisor. He was a member of the Wylie Antique Machinery Society. Besides machinery, Ralph also thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with and talking about the generations of his family. He also loved talking about the history of Wylie with Annie Sue. Ralph was the epitome of an excellent father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was a disciplined, baptized, follower of Jesus Christ. Curtis Ralph Ellenburg Sr. found his fortune in his family, which is part of his legacy that will continually persist for generations to come. Services were held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, 23 August, at the Cottonwood Church of Christ, with Eric Hogue officitiating. Ralph was laid to rest at the Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas.
