Memorial services for Mark Benson, 47, of Deadwood, South Dakota, formerly of Aurelia, will be 3 pm Saturday, April 25, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia, with Pastor Bruce Rapp of the First Congregational Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Mark Edwin Benson was born on February 12, 1962, the son of Larry Lee and Mavis R. Benson. Mark died Friday, April 17, 2009, at his home in Deadwood, South Dakota. Preceding Mark in death were his father, Larry Lee Benson, his paternal grandparents, and his maternal grandfather. Survivors include his mother, Mavis Yunge and his step-father. Robert Stroud of Aurelia, one son, Jared and his wife, Kimberly Benson of Golden Colorado, one daughter, Jessie Witscher and her partner Gregory Witscher of Prescott, Arizona, and one granddaughter, Sawyer Witscher. Also surviving are two sisters, Dawn and her husband, Jeff Grell of Fremont, Nebraska, and Sonya Benson of New York, NY., grandmother Lois Freese Holstein, two nieces, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
