Lavona Jean Shown Lavona Jean Shown, 85, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in Boise, ID. Lavona was born on January 5, 1929 in Burke, South Dakota to Russell and Corine Faust. Lavona graduated from Melba High School in 1950. She married Leon Andrew Shown on August 24, 1950 in Melba, ID. She lived in Cascade, ID the majority of her life. Lavona was an Avon representative for 18 years and reached the President's Club many times. She loved the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a Chapter President in her hometown Cascade. She loved her church the Cascade Assembly of God, and enjoyed the Women's Ministry. For a number of years she would take her tea basket to the assisted living and to her friends around town to share scripture and stories. Some of Lavona's favorite things were hummingbirds, wearing hats, and sending letters and cards to everyone she knew. She is survived by her sister, Naomi Gustin; her children, Rodney and Rita Shown, Vernon Shown and Tamara McFadden; her grandchildren, Joe, Telisa (Robert), Amber (Josh), Jamie (Mischelle), and Ammany; her great-grandchildren, Majesta (Russ), Jeremy (Siera), Nik, Cammy, Levi, Stevie, Rylee, Bailee, Ivy, Logan, Kaylee, and Conner. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leon "Andy" Shown; brother, Lyle Faust; and son-in-law, Robert W. McFadden. There will be a Celebration of her Life on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Brethren in Christ Log Cabin Church. Idaho Press-Tribune, December 30, 2014
