Bio

Wilbert "Piccadilly Bill" Hoelscher, age 84, of Bristol, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his residence. Born July 17, 1933 in Runnels County, Texas, he was a son of the late Frank and Emma Hoelscher. Bill grew up on a farm in Rowena, Texas. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, he joined the Marines where he proudly served his country in Korea. He worked 43 years for Piccadilly Cafeteria. The last 27 years he was the manager of Piccadilly in the Bristol Mall in Bristol, VA. Bill was a member of the VWF Post 6975, American Legion Post 145 and the Bristol Host Lions. From the cotton fields of Texas to the hills of Tennessee, he touched many lives with his sharp wit and keen sense of humor. Bill enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends and family. Piccadilly Bill was loved by many and respected by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Eastham Hoelscher; 9 children; 23 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild who were his pride and joy. A Committal and Entombment will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Heritage Chapel of Memories at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN with Father Eric Baffour Asamoah officiating. Military honors will be rendered by DAV Chapter #40 Honor Guard and members of the Marine Corp Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be family. The family will receive friends at the Bristol American Legion Post 145 following the committal service to celebrate Piccadilly Bill's life. Arrangements especially for Mr. Hoelscher and his family were made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory.
