Mildred Mae Harris, 97, of Kearney formerly of Ravenna was carried home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at St. John's Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Congregational Church in Ravenna. Rev. Jeff Zinnel officiated. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna. Mildred Mae Harris was born January 5, 1921 in Sherman County, Nebraska to Frank and Ella (Huryta) Naiberk. She attended grade school at District 55 in Sherman County and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1938 earning an athletic letter in softball. She married Harold Harris on September 11, 1941 in Grand Island, NE. Three children were born to this union, Riley, Shari and Marcia. Mildred lived her entire 97 years (except for the last 7 years at Prairie View Gardens in Kearney) in the Ravenna area. During this time she worked at Safeway and the Ravenna Insurance Agency. Her priority in life was her family and she also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She loved socializing and playing cards with her friends and family as well as baking her famous kolaches. Mildred was a 60 year member of the Congregational Church including the Women's Fellowship of the church. The VFW Auxiliary was another organization in which she served for 60 plus years. Survivors include her son, Riley Harris (Joan) of Kearney, Shari Keilig (Roger) of Raymore, MO and Marcia Harris (Michael Ford) of Green Valley, AZ, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Eldon Naiberk (Sue) of Highland Ranch, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Janet Powell and brother, Roland Naiberk.
