Houston-Dovie Jeanette Holder, 90, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at home. She was born October 8, 1928 in Vardaman to the late Rubel and Nannie James. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Vardaman. Services will be Monday, June 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. Al Gaspard and Bro. John Sevier officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Vardaman. Memorial Funeral Home in Houston is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by a son, Dean Holder (Mary) of Houston; two daughters, Ruth Bailey of Houston and Marcey Pumphrey (Gary) of Cedar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Deana Gentry, Lynn Holder, Rene Gann, Nickie Pettit, Leigh Ann McAlpin all of Houston, Sonya Townsend of Tupelo and Andrea Lindsey of Pontotoc; 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Holder; her parents, Rubel and Nannie James; a son, Kenneth Roy Holder; a grandson, Perry Brian Pettit and a granddaughter, Heather Celeste Pumphrey.
