Bio

Services for Olga Lydia Christy, 93, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mrs. Christy died Monday, June 11, at a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1925, in Holland to John J. and Olga L. Marek Coufal. She married Earl E. Christy on June 4, 1946. She was a life-long resident of Temple and a member of Moody Leon United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Christy was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 20, 2005. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Leon UMC Memorial Fund, c/o John Carpenter, 111 Ave. B, Moody TX 76557. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
