Myrna Stackley, 76, of Cottonwood Falls, KS, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at University of Kansas Health System-St. Francis in Topeka, KS. The daughter of Donald and Edna (Morgan) Cleaver, Myrna was born December 31, 1941, at home in Iola, KS. She and Richard C. Stackley were married March 12, 1960 in the Baptist Church in Homestead Community in rural Chase County. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2017. Myrna had driven a school bus for USD 284, worked as a meat inspector for IBP, and was a real estate agent in Emporia for Century 21. She had quit high school before graduation and returned to school and graduated from Chase County High School in the Class of 1975. While she and Richard were living in Oklahoma, she attended a satellite location for Tulsa University and completed a bachelor’s degree in Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation. Myrna enjoyed camping and traveling, playing bingo, quilting, and riding her three-wheel motorcycle. She also collected tea pots. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Falls Chapter #25 in Cottonwood Falls. She made many lifelong friends traveling around the state visiting various OES chapters. She is survived by a son, Byran K. (Michele) Stackley of Strong City; an adopted daughter, Chyenne Pauley of Emporia; a sister, Yvonne (Ivan) Goins of Colony; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Stackley; and two sisters: Nina Sonka and Becky Manspeaker. There will be a visitation Thursday from 6 until 7:30 P.M. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home and a celebration of life memorial service Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
